Godloves Home Improvements has served homeowners across Mercer County since 2005. Our shop is at 24 Stella Ave in Hamilton, the county’s most populous town, and we take projects within about a 45-minute radius of Hamilton and Princeton. That covers all of Mercer County and some of the towns just beyond it.
The Towns We Serve
Mercer County has 12 municipalities. These are the areas we work in most:
- Hamilton: Our home base. Mercer’s most populous town, made up of Mercerville, Hamilton Square, White Horse, Yardville and Groveville.
- Princeton: Older homes, 21 historic districts and design review for exterior work.
- Trenton: The state capital and county seat, with dense 19th-century neighborhoods and 8 local historic districts.
- Lawrence Township: Historic Lawrenceville along Main Street, plus Eldridge Park, Slackwood and newer neighborhoods.
- Hopewell Township: Mercer’s largest township by area, with farmhouses, historic hamlets and the boroughs of Pennington and Hopewell.
- Cranbury: Just over the line in Middlesex County, with a historic village on the National Register.
We also work in Mercer’s other towns, including Ewing, West Windsor, East Windsor, Robbinsville, Hightstown, Pennington and Hopewell Borough. If you’re not sure whether you’re in our area, give us a call.
Mailing Addresses Don’t Always Match Towns
In Mercer County, the name on your mail doesn’t always match the town you live in. Many Hamilton, Ewing and Lawrence homes have Trenton addresses. Some Lawrence and West Windsor homes have Princeton addresses, and Princeton Junction is part of West Windsor. Hopewell Township homes often have Pennington or Hopewell addresses.
This matters because permits, inspections and any historic review go through your actual municipality. Your property tax bill shows which one that is. Whatever your mail says, we can help.
Homes From Every Era
Mercer County’s homes span three centuries. Trenton grew fast in the 1800s. Hamilton grew quickly between 1930 and 1960. Trenton, Princeton, Lawrenceville, Hopewell Township and nearby Cranbury Village all have protected historic homes that need review before exterior changes. Each era hides its own issues once the walls are open, from settled framing and plaster to builder-grade finishes in newer homes.
We’ve worked on homes from new construction to century-old houses that needed Historical Society approval. Our approach doesn’t change: do the work right, including the parts you won’t see, and build beyond code minimums instead of just aiming to pass inspection.
